| yCourse descriptionz | Students will be given a detailed outline at the beginning of the class consisting of current issues in East Asia and will be asked to choose a topic to present in class (depending on the size of the class, students may be put into groups). Students will also be expected to write a short opinion paper (250-500 words max) for at least five of the topics, and these papers will be returned to the students with comments. For the final project of the class, students will be expected to write a research paper (2000-2500 words max) on a topic they presented or of another topic that interests them concerning political, social or economic issues in East Asia.
