It has been just over one year since Hokkaido University launched the Office for International Affairs, an administrative body that was formed to consolidate the University’s international activities. In April 2011, the consolidation took a more physical form as the Office’s various departments moved together to one central location on campus (pictured.) With these new facilities, the Office of International Affairs now provides general support services to International Students and researchers through the Student Support Desk, professional counseling, Japanese Language tuition, and other essential services such as study rooms with state of the art IT facilities, language laboratories and a prayer space. Students can also enjoy a generous sized lounge, activities room and outdoor patio to meet friends and relax.
The Office also serves as a base for the university's international activities while promoting partnerships both within and outside the university. We continue our determination in providing full support for all of the people engaged in these activities in their efforts to realize the university's mid-term goal in becoming a "university open to the world." As always, please do not hesitate to give us your feedback or advice on our international activities.
