| "Shiretoko Science" Using the Museum as the Core Education Program |

| Up to now, the surveillance study on archeology, the geography, the maintenance ecology, and the museum business administration has been advanced in the field in the sphere of the east of Hokkaido in which it centered on the Shiretoko in a Graduate School of Letters.
Field experience type general and education maneuver "Let's search for ruins" has been executed in the Shiretoko laboratory in a Graduate School of Letters since 2004 fiscal year. Moreover, project that the student becomes a center and produced project exhibition "Muccri Toncori of the Ainu native musical instrument (2003 fiscal year)" are held, and it continues in an integrated museum every year. The technique of the museum activity of the participation type that cooperated with the region was developed through these project exhibitions. The museum in the east of Hokkaido region is made a nucleus, a regional contribution eternal through the exhibition in active participation of the student in the fieldwork and the museum exhibition and museums ties, and an organic relation among local populace's academic training, lifelong learning, and the student education of Hokkaido University is aimed at in this program based on these results. |

| Contents | The practice ground is the Ikushina-Kita Kaigan ruins in the Shiretoko peninsula and the Shari-cho. It is integral including this ruins national forest, a spectacle preservation region, and a space for which a lot of environments at that time at the time of be left ruins in a sense have been left. There are not a lot of places that have the environment that can understand the village of prehistory including peripheral natural environment in Hokkaido where a lot of nature is left now. Moreover, the Ikushina-Kita Kaigan ruins are the village ruins confirmed with it not finished buried of a lot of pit house in ruins located on the coast dune that expands from the whole town of Shari mind part in the east. Ruins are understood to the environment in the surrounding because of the location environment. what place have been selected from walking voluntarily, and the observation of the location like the distance etc. of height, the direction, the spectacle, and the water place as a base of life.In this practice, the participant was divided into four groups, and three work of the prospecting investigation for the time of measurement and 3) pit house of topographic survey and 2) pit house around ruins of 1) specific was experienced.
