A) 学務システムから自分の成績を確認できます。学務システムログイン→履修・成績情報→成績照会で成績が見られます。教職員・研究員の方は、成績確認方法について、履修クラスの通知の際にお知らせします。
Q11) 受講科目申請をまだしていませんが、１回目の授業はでなければいけないですか？
A) 初回授業から成績評価の対象となる可能性がありますので、１回目の授業から出席してください。

【受講科目の選択に関すること】

Q1) いくつまで科目を申請できますか。
A) 上限はありませんが、「日本語演習」を含む日本語科目は最大でも6つを目安にしてください。多文化交流科目は、最大3つを目安にしてください。
Q2) 新規学生です。自分の日本語レベルがわかりません。
A) まずはプレースメントテストを受験してください。その結果に基づいてクラスを申請してください。
Q3) 前学期に履修した科目のレベルがばらばらです。プレースメントテストを受けない場合、今学期は、どのレベルを履修することができますか。
A) 日本語コース登録設定では、今までに合格したクラスの中で一番高いレベルの一つ上のクラスを登録してください。学務システムの受講登録では、前学期の合否に合わせてクラスを選択してください。
例）前学期：中級やりとり１不合格→今学期：中級やりとり１、前学期：中級表現２合格→今学期：中級表現３、前学期中級理解２不合格→今学期：中級理解２
Q4) 前学期に不合格だったら、また同じレベルのクラスを履修しなければなりませんか？
A) 合格していないのであれば、同じレベルのクラスを履修しなければなりません。ただし、プレースメントテストを受けて、上のレベルのクラスの点数が取れたら、上のクラスを申請出来ます。
Q5) クラスのAとBの違いは何ですか。
A) 基本的に同じ内容のクラスです。
Q6) 中級レベルを受講したいです。文法が弱いので、文法中心に勉強したいのですが、文法を勉強するクラスはありますか。
A) 文法だけの科目は、中級にはありません。「やりとり」「表現」「理解」のそれぞれのモードで、文法を組み込んだ授業をします。詳しくは、授業概要を見て、科目を選んでください。
Q7) 日本語演習では日本語を勉強することができますか。
A) できます。日本語演習では、日本語で、日本社会や文化に関する内容を学ぶと同時に、大学生活で必要なアカデミック・ジャパニーズを習得することができます。
Q8) 日本語演習を同じ学期に複数受講することはできますか。
A) できます。ただし、たくさんの科目を申し込まないように注意してください。シラバスをよく読んで、自分が興味・関心のある科目のうち2科目を目安に申し込みをしてください。
Q9)多文化交流科目では日本語を勉強することができますか。
A) できます。ただし、多文化交流科目は、日本語の勉強を直接の目的とするクラスではありません。日本人学生とともに「日本語で」学ぶ科目です。
Q10) 多文化交流科目を同じ学期に複数受講することはできますか。
A) できます。ただし、たくさんの科目を申し込まないように注意してください。そのため、シラバスをよく読んで、自分が興味・関心のある科目のうち3科目を目安に申し込みをしてください。
Q11) 点数よりも下のレベルのクラスを受講することはできますか。
A) 基本的には点数にあったレベルのクラスを申請してほしいですが、日本語能力に自信がない場合は、下のレベルのクラスに申し込むことが出来ます。
Q12) 日本語を使っていなくて忘れてしまったので、履修歴よりも下のクラスを受講することはできますか。
A) できます。ただし、履修する前にプレースメントテストを受けて、その点数にあったクラスを選択することをおすすめします。
Q13) 多文化交流科目は抽選ですか？
A) 一部授業では、初回授業で抽選となる場合がありますので、初回授業から出席してください。

【プレースメントテストに関すること】

Q1) 新規学生です。プレースメントテストを受験しなくてもいいですか。
A) 初めて一般日本語コースを受講する学生は受験してください。ただし、日本語初習者はテストを受けないで、初級1レベルのクラスを申請してください。
Q2) 継続学生です。プレースメントテストを受験しなくてもいいですか。
A) 基本的には受けなくてもいいです。
Q3) 日本語能力試験1級を持っているので、プレースメントテストを受けないで上級科目をとっても良いですか？
A) 一般日本語コースを初めて受講する方は、プレースメントテストを受けてください。日本語能力試験とプレースメントテストは、異なるテストです。初めて受講する場合、必ずプレースメントテストを受けてください。
Q4) プレースメントテストの点数よりも上のクラスを選択しても良いですか。
A) いいえ。自分の点数に基づいてクラスを選んでください。
Q5) プレースメントテストを受けるときに何か必要なものはありますか。
A) 使用可能なデバイスとインターネットに接続できる環境があれば他には特にありません。指定されたプレースメントテスト受験期間内にオンラインで自分でプレースメントテストを受けてください。プレースメントテストは世界のどこからでも受けることができます。
Q6) プレースメントテストはどのくらい時間がかかりますか。
A) プレースメントテストの申請からテスト終了までの合計で1時間〜2時間程かかります。テスト自体の時間は30分〜1時間程度です。
Q7) プレースメントテストで辞書を使ってもいいですか。
A) いいえ。テストはあなたの日本語力を正しく測定することが目的です。何も使わないで解答してください。
Q8) プレースメントテストを2回受けることはできますか。
A) 指定されたプレースメントテスト受験期間内であれば問題ありません。
Q9) プレースメントテストの途中でエラーが発生し、続けられなくなりました。
A) 再度申し込みをして、プレースメントテストを受け直してください。それでも問題が出る場合は、インターネット環境が整っている環境で受け直す、ブラウザを変更する（推奨ブラウザはChromeです）、デバイスを変えるなどの対応をしてみてください。
Q10) 私のパソコンで、試験の文字（日本語）が読めません。
A) 違うブラウザで試してください。推奨ブラウザは、Chromeです。
Q11) 試験が終わりました。次は何をすればいいですか。
A) 送られてくる試験の成績表を保存してください。日本語コース登録設定の際に、その点数などを入力してフォームを送付してください。

A) いかなる理由でも日本語コース登録設定のフォームの締め切り後の申し込みは受け付けません。来学期、申請してください。
Q2) 継続学生です。申請しなくてもいいですか。
A) 受講希望者は全員必ず申請してください。申請しないと受講できません。
Q3) 学務システムで申請した科目を変更できますか。
A) 受講科目登録期間中は、選択科目を変更することで申請した科目の変更が可能です。受講科目登録期間後のクラス変更は出来ません。
Q4) 学務システムはどうやって入れますか？
A) ELMSにログイン後、「学務システム」をクリックしてください。

[About the selection of subjects]

Q1) How many subjects can I apply for?
A) There is no upper limit, but please apply for a maximum of six Japanese language classes if you include “Japanese Language Seminar”. For the Co-learning Multicultural Classrooms, a maximum of three classes are recommended.
Q2) I am a new student. I don’t know my Japanese proficiency level.
A) Please take a placement test first. Apply classes based on the results.
Q3) The levels of subjects I took in the last semester were inconsistent. If I didn’t take the Placement Test, which level can I apply for this semester?
A) In the Authorization for Japanese Course Registration, please select the class one level above the highest-level class you have passed. When registering for courses through the Academic Affairs System, please select the class based on whether you passed or failed the course in the previous semester.
Examples:
Previous semester: Intermediate Interaction 1 — Failed → This semester: Intermediate Interaction 1
Previous semester: Intermediate Expression 2 — Passed → This semester: Intermediate Expression 3
Previous semester: Intermediate Comprehension 2 — Failed → This semester: Intermediate Comprehension 2
Q4) Do I have to take the same level class again if I failed the previous semester?
A) If you have not passed the class, you must take a class at the same level. However, if you take the placement test and get a score of higher level class, you can apply for the class.
Q5) What are the differences between A class and B class?
A) Class contents are basically the same.
Q6) Can I take Intermediate “Practical” subjects only?
A) You must take “Practical” subjects together with “Basic” subjects. You can take only “Practical” subjects if any of the following applies and provided there are vacancies in the “Practical” subjects concerned:
  1. Students whose Placement Test results were “advanced.”
  2. Students who haven’t taken the Placement Test but have already passed a “Basic” class at a level higher than the level they are applying for.
Q7) Can I learn Japanese through Japanese Seminar?
A) Of course, you can. By taking Japanese Seminar, you will learn about Japanese society and culture as well as master academic Japanese necessary for university study.
Q8) Can I take multiple Japanese Seminar subjects in the same semester?
A) Yes, you can. However, please be careful not to apply for too many subjects. Read the syllabuses carefully and apply for two subjects you are especially interested in.
Q9) Can I learn Japanese through Co-learning in Multicultural Classrooms?
A) Of course, you can. However, Japanese language learning is not the primary aim of Co-learning in Multicultural Classrooms. The students will learn “in Japanese” with Japanese students.
Q10) Can I take multiple Co-learning in Multicultural Classrooms subjects in the same semester?
A) Yes, you can. However, please be careful not to apply for too many subjects. Read the syllabuses carefully and apply for three subjects from the ones you are especially interested in.
Q11) Can I take classes at a level lower than my score?
A) Basically, it is recommended to apply for a class at the level appropriate to your score, but if you are not confident in your Japanese language ability, you can apply for a lower class.
Q12) I haven't used Japanese since I took Japanese classes and have forgotten it. Can I take a class lower than the level I took last time?
A) Yes, you can. However, we recommand you to take a placement test before applying for classes and select a class that matches your score.
Q13) Are the Co-learning in Multicultural Classroom courses selected by lottery?
A) Some courses may hold a lottery during the first class, so please make sure to attend from the first class.

[About the Placement Test]

Q1) I am a new student. Is it OK for me not to take the Placement Test?
A) You must take the test if you are taking the General Japanese Course for the first time. However, if you have not previously studied Japanese, please do not take the test and apply for Introductory 1 level class.
Q2) I am a continuing student. Is it OK for me not to take the Placement Test?
A) You do not have to take the test.
Q3) I have JLPT Level 1. Can I apply for advanced courses without taking the placement test?
A) Students who are taking the General Japanese Course for the first time must take a placement test. The JLPT and the placement test are different tests. If you are taking the course for the first time, you must take a placement test.
Q4) May I choose a class higher than my placement test score level?
A) No. Please select your class based on your test score.
Q5) What do I need when I take the Placement Test?
A) You only need an available device and an internet connection. Placement tests must be taken individually during the placement test period. You can take the placement test online from anywhere in the world.
Q6) How long does the Placement Test take?
A) It will take about 1-2 hours when you apply the test until you receive the test result. The test itself is about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Q7) Can I use dictionaries during the Placement Test?
A) No, you can’t. The test is for accurately assessing your Japanese language level. Answer all questions without using any help.
Q8) Can I take the Placement Test twice?
A) Yes, you can. You can take as many test as you want during the placement test period.
Q9) An error occurred during the Placement Test and I couldn’t continue the test.
A) Please re-apply and take the placement test again. If you still have problems, please try to do the things as follows. Taking the test again with an environment with a good Internet connection, change your browser (the recommended browser is Chrome), or change your device.
Q10) I can’t read the text of the test (Japanese) on my computer.
A) Try different browsers. We recommend Chrome.
Q11) I have completed the test. What do I need to do next?
A) Please save the test score report that you receive. When completing the Authorization for Japanese Course Registration, enter your score and other required information, and submit the form.

[Applicationfor the Japanese Language Courses]

Q1) I missed the deadline for the Authorization for Japanese Course Registration form. Can I still apply?
A) Applications submitted after the deadline for the Authorization for Japanese Course Registration form will not be accepted for any reason. Please apply next semester.
Q2) I am a continuing student. Is it OK for me not to apply?
A) All students wishing to attend the course must apply. You can’t attend the course if you don’t apply.
Q3) Can I change the courses I applied for in the Academic Affairs System?
A) You can change your selected courses during the Class Enrollment Period. However, class changes cannot be made after the Class Enrollment Period has ended.
Q4) How can I access the Academic Affairs System?
A) After logging in to ELMS, click “Academic Affairs System.”
Q5) I do not have an ELMS-ID.
A) Please obtain your ELMS-ID from your affiliated faculty or graduate school.

[After the Class Enrollment]

Q1) Can I change the subjects I applied for?
A) You cannot change your selected courses after the Class Enrollment period.
Q2) Where can I find out classes I am taking?
A) You can check your registered classes through the Academic Affairs System.
Academic Affairs System Login → Course Registration & Grades Information → Course Schedule. You can check your registered classes there.
Q3) I registered Japanese class, but it conflicts with my class so I want to cancel Japanese class.
A) Please submit a course cancellation request during the course cancellation period.
Q4) I can’t attend the class anymore.
A) Please submit a Course Withdrawal Form during the Course Withdrawl Period.
Q5) By when can I cancel my classes?
A) Course cancellation is only possible during the course cancellation period. After this period, you cannot cancel a course, and if you do not attend the class, you will receive a failing grade.
Q6) The classes I have been applied for does not match my level.
A) You cannot change your selected courses after the Class Enrollment period.
