The maximum quantities per day, per three months, and per year of 125I, 32P, and 3H used in class A and B rooms include those used in class C rooms. The quantities of 125I, 32P, and 3H used throughout the Institute should be less than the maximum quantities
of the nuclides in class A and B rooms.
The maximum quantities of nuclides in class D rooms (radio-gas chromatography
room, dark room) are specified separately.
1:Administration of RIs to experimental animals and handling of gaseous RI compounds are allowed
only in class A and B rooms.
2:90Sr, 226Ra, 60Co, 106Ru, 144Ce, and 152Eu should not be administered to animals. 85Kr and
133Xe are completely gaseous and should not be administered to animals.
The upper limits of total quantities of nuclides, other than those listed above, allowed to be administered to experimental animals and gaseous RI compounds are as follows.
(1)124I: 1/2 of the maximum quantity per day, 1/5 of the maximum quantity per
three months,
1/5 of the maximum quantity per year
(2)131I: 1/5 of the maximum quantity per day, 1/5 of the maximum quantity per
three months,
1/5 of the maximum quantity per year
(3)45Ca, 125I, 32P, 33P, 35S, 3H, and 14C: 1/200 of the maximum quantity per day, 1/200 of the
maximum quantity per three months, 1/200 of the maximum quantity per
year
(4)Other nuclides: 1/10 of the maximum quantity per day, 1/10 of the maximum
quantity per three
months, 1/10 of the maximum quantity per year
