北海道大学の前身である札幌農学校は、マサチューセッツ農科大学、今の米国マサチューセッツ大学アマースト校（UMass Amherst）からウィリアム・スミス・クラーク博士を初代教頭に迎えて誕生しました。それから150年、今なお二大学の交流は続いています。
北海道大学創基150周年を記念して、UMass Amherstと共同で、両校の歴史を振り返る動画を製作しました。9月26日（土）の150周年記念式典で封切となりましたが、長く見られるようにYouTubeで公開しています。
